Let Me Tell You Once More

0 Comments – By: Mariona Sagarra – Categories: , , ,

(Satélite K, 2016) — Musics: Mariona Sagarra, voice Raül Costafreda, guitar amb art co-production Marc Vila, percussion and efects Marina Albero, piano Xavi Lozano, mohoceño (flute) Adele Madau, violin Júlia Pérez, cello Maribel Ribero, bass — When I read Montserrat Abelló’s poetry, it struck me, with its form and essence, as precisely what I wanted to say but, of course, so much better expressed!!! Her concise words are so sincere and full of true feelings, lived emotions and real colours. “How lucky”, I thought, “that I can express myself with absolute freedom and with the voice of a woman, in the broadest and most beautiful sense of the word!”. Thus the ‘Abelló Suite’ was born, a collection of poems I would save like little treasures which have allowed me to talk-sing-feel love, desire, Art and commitment… In a word, life. Montserrat’s every word, every verse is pure sincerity. So much so that many of the songs I have composed for her poems seem to me as though they could only have been expressed in this way. For me, it has been a magical and wholly organic creation. A veritable gift. But, of course, the greatest gift was, quite a few years ago now, meeting the author of those words woven together with threads of wisdom and having been close to the poet who created such mosaics of love. The affinity was immediate and our esteem grew constantly stronger, a precious mutual understanding and a great admiration on my part as I discovered someone who was […]

Maram trio: SONOS (2a edició)

0 Comments – By: Mariona Sagarra – Categories: ,

Maram Trio: SONOS Columna Música (2n edition, november 2017) — Mariona Sagarra, voice Marina Albero, psalteri Marc Egea, viola de roda — In the past few years Maram Trio has mixed together ancient melodies —both traditional and medieval— with some improv work and contemporary rhythms, conferring upon them a particularly creative prominence. Each of the three members, with our respective specialty fields and artistic careers, has contributed to designing a repertoire never heard before for such an ensemble. After intense research and hard work, we are convinced to be offering an original sound. This trio project, humble as it is, has been running for some time now and we believe it is here for the long run. We have grown closer to one another and feel right at home when we perform. After all these years together, it was time for us to launch SONOS, a collection of songs (themes,o tunes o tracks) we have been presenting at our concerts. —

Lent,Lent…Corrent!

(Columna Música, 2009) . ‘For me, being rigorous means being honest, not to spare a thing, not even those things I would not want to know or, let alone, see for myself..’ Zoran Music . LENT, LENT… CORRENT! ELS TEMPERAMENTS DE LA VEU is a melting pot of different worlds, internal dynamics, possible combinations, improvisations and surprises, timbres and emotions. This is the result of a path I took a long time ago, a discovery of musical and sound vibrations present in different feelings. From daily responses and impulses to the most far-fetched situations and emotions. A work that, among other things, has led me to encounter musics and songs from other cultures, to go deep into experiences of mystic, ritual or festive nature, but also in the purest avant-garde creation and improvisation. So with this album I wanted to find a way to express each and every one of these emotions, granting them their particular identity, at least the way I see—I live—them. And to do so with utter unadorned intensity. LENT, LENT… CORRENT! revolves around some temperaments and life scenarios expressed through voice, the magic of words, sound and the power of music. I like gravitas but also cheerfulness, beauty, versatility and risk… in a nutshell, to experiment. Doubt, fear, patience, affinity, love, the passing of time, death, desire, dreams… They are all states of presence in this ongoing, passionate arm-wrestling of our existence, the keystone of our life. I give you some of my temperaments of the voice.

Dies Diferents

0 Comments – By: Mariona Sagarra – Categories: ,

(Columna Música, 2003) . ‘J’entends la rumeur des distances traversées’. Marcel Proust . Dies diferents is a compilation of memories, journeys and discoveries of places and people. It is a musical distillation, created over time and fed by the love contained in every song in this album. The cross-cutting bonds of the songs make up a wide-ranging mosaic of stories and emotions, stills of essences, a dialogue of cultures, geographies, human maps and landscapes. My intention has been to weave different worlds together, sonorities tainted with tradition, but clad in current clothes, ours, and from here. Hopefully these musical links I am putting forward, together with the excitement I feel by being able to count on each and every artist chipping in with their expertise in this album, can be conveyed to you, our listener, as transparently, closely and harmoniously as possible. UN PATUFET QUE SONA Mariona Sagarra, voice, musical creation and adaptation of the popular tale + Perico Pastor, Animated illustrations and projected of the whole story (cd Self edited, 2015) The story of PATUFET is a tale known by all of us, is family, and this time our little protagonist will walk us through other cultures, other playful and mischievous sounds. He is our friend, Patufet, who always wants to know new things. The PATUFET QUE SONA (A Patufet that sounds) is a proposal based on the traditional Catalan tale directed to the little ones of the family with the voice of the singer and musical creator Mariona Sagarra and the animated illustrations, always suggestive of the painter Perico Pastor that will thresh some songs that the children and Girls probably already know and other sounds where vocal improvisation and sound richness make Patufet a small-big boy with a lot of life and curiosity.     .
